- There is no charge to submit an application for a place at The English School Gothenburg. Applications are made using the school's online admissions form and places are offered through the standard admissions process.
Tuition fees by year group (Preschool to Year 9)
- The English School Gothenburg does not charge tuition for any year group. Education from Preschool through Year 9 is publicly funded; there are no tuition fees per term or per year.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Because the school does not charge tuition, there is no regular tuition billing schedule for term or year payments.
- For optional, chargeable activities organised outside the core, publicly funded curriculum (for example PTA-run music lessons), fees are charged per term and payment is required before or at the start of the term. The PTA music programme requires payment within three days of the lesson confirmation and at least before the child's first lesson; optional lessons run on a term basis (Fall and Spring).

- Other optional or incidental costs that families commonly meet (not charged as school tuition) can include extracurricular activity fees run by parents or outside providers, instrument hire or purchase beyond the small PTA rental options above, school trips or camps when these are organised as optional activities, and any privately arranged tuition or therapy. (No core tuition or mandatory year-group fees apply.)
Refund information
- There are no tuition refunds because the school does not charge tuition. For optional PTA-run activities (for example music lessons), the published PTA terms require timely payment before lessons and specify an administrative charge for late changes; specific refund rules for cancellations or withdrawals from PTA activities are handled by the PTA and are detailed in the PTA activity communications. The PTA requires payment prior to the first lesson.
Fee payment options
- The school lists Swish as a payment method (Swish 123 611 15 61) for school-related payments where Swish is accepted.
- PTA music programme payments are collected by bank transfer to the PTA Bankgiro (Bankgiro 223-4193) with the student name and class noted on the transfer; the PTA's music guidance specifies bank transfer (no Swish) for these charges.
- For invoicing or finance queries the school publishes a finance contact; routine school-related payments that arise (for optional services, trips or PTA-managed programmes) are coordinated through the school or the PTA with the payment details given in the relevant communication.

The English School Gothenburg is an independent, non-profit Swedish school founded in 1958 and based in western Gothenburg. It serves ages 0 to 15 and follows the Swedish curriculum with a liberal arts approach, delivering learning in both English and Swedish. Swedish National Tests are taken in years 3, 6 and 9 in Swedish and Maths, with English assessed in years 6 and 9. Class sizes are up to 24 students and teaching assistants are often on hand to support individual learning. The staff come from many countries, bringing diverse teaching practices to planning and enrichment. The modern campus features bright classrooms with interactive whiteboards and extensive technology, a superb playground, and easy access to nearby forests and sport facilities for PE and outdoor activities.
