English and Swedish are used as languages of instruction; 14 mother tongue groups offer weekly after-school lessons in pupils' native languages; mother tongue teaching is provided under Swedish law when at least five pupils speak the same language other than Swedish or a Swedish minority language.

Vasa International School of Stockholm is an IB World School in Vasastan, educating 400 students aged 5 to 15. The school offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme in candidate status, with two streams: International Bilingual. The PYP follows six units of inquiry each year and integrates the Swedish national curriculum Lgr22, while providing English and Swedish language support and mother tongue resources. Facilities include well-equipped classrooms, a science lab, a lunchroom, a gym hall, a music room, a visual arts room and a library with around 8,000 titles in Swedish and English.
