Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

École Mosaic offers a bilingual and multicultural education for children aged 3–12. Classes are taught in English and French by native-speaking teachers. It has a strong track record for producing well-rounded students with excellent socio-emotional skills. The school fosters an international community through diverse extracurricular activities and a caring learning environment that supports social-emotional development. Wellbeing and social-emotional growth are supported by dedicated staff and school practices.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

École Mosaic is an inclusive school that aims to tailor the environment to each child's needs. Teachers receive regular training on learning difficulties and special needs. The school engages in ongoing dialogue with families, therapists, the teaching team and the referring doctor, under the supervision of the Wellbeing and Success Coordinator. When learning difficulties arise, the Pedagogical Team discusses options with parents and may arrange additional support or mediation. Some students receive personalised education plans with progress monitored, in collaboration with external support as needed.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

École Mosaic offers bilingual French/English education from Nursery to 8P. From year 3 (3P), children whose mother tongue is neither French nor English join the linguistic tutoring programme. Tutors help students acquire or develop the missing language in small groups one to three times a week, in close collaboration with class teachers. Parents are informed through a linguistic tutoring booklet and regular meetings to discuss progress.

Mental Wellbeing

Wellbeing is overseen by a Wellbeing and Success Coordinator who coordinates support involving families, therapists and the school doctor. The school emphasizes respect, tolerance and empathy as part of daily life, helping students develop healthy self-understanding and interpersonal skills. The approach supports social-emotional development across the curriculum and activities, fostering a caring and inclusive community where students feel safe and supported.

Safeguarding

The school maintains safeguarding policies and procedures, including anti-bullying measures and clear reporting processes. Staff receive safeguarding training, and concerns are addressed promptly under the guidance of designated safeguarding roles. The policies cover the welfare of students, collaboration with families and partners, and the handling of safeguarding concerns in a structured and confidential manner.

Ecole Mosaic is a private, bilingual, multicultural school in Geneva for students aged 3 to 12. It combines a bespoke integrated curriculum with the English National Curriculum and the Plan d'études Romand (PER), delivering a clear pathway for families seeking international schooling. A compulsory language tutoring programme from age 3P supports students who have not spent three full years in bilingual education. The Primary Programme emphasises project-based learning with transdisciplinary topics and enrichment in theatre, dance, music, languages, sports, STEAM and arts. In the early years, languages are alternated weekly; by the end of 4P most pupils achieve mastery of both languages, with a language support plan for late joiners. The Middle School provides a balanced bilingual curriculum, with French as the anchor language, enhanced English and German, and core subjects taught in both languages; Arts are taught in English, and Latin is optional. Facilities include STEAM lab and library.
