Boarding Arrangements

A Junior Boarding School for ages 3 to 13. Boarders live in chalet-style accommodation in small groups with dedicated house parents. Préfleuri offers full boarding and flexi-boarding (one night, weekends, or longer) as part of the boarder community. The environment is family-style and bilingual, with a 1:3 teacher-to-student ratio mentioned and a diverse community of about 20 nationalities.

Food Options

Mealtimes feature balanced and varied menus with traditional, European, and home cooking. Students taste Swiss specialties such as fondue and raclette, complemented by themed buffet feasts.

House System

Boarders live in small groups in warm, cosy chalets with house parents ensuring security, belonging, and personal space for each child (rooms accommodate up to four children). After school, boarders are encouraged to speak French in daily life as part of a language-friendly environment.

Governance and Ownership

Préfleuri was founded in 1948 by Willam and Lucienne Bonzon, originally creating a children's home; it has since evolved into a family-style bilingual boarding school.

Pré Fleuri International Alpine School is a private international boarding school in the Swiss Alps, near Villars-sur-Ollon, set on two hectares at 1,200 metres. It welcomes boarders, flex-boarders and day pupils aged 3 to 13. The school offers a bilingual English–French curriculum designed to support admissions to secondary schools worldwide. In the Early Years (3–5) the UK curriculum runs alongside French curricula, while the British Section (5–13) follows the official UK programme from KS1/KS2 to Year 7 and the French Section (5–13) follows the official French programme from CP to 5ème. Class sizes are small and learning emphasises individual progress. The Swiss Chalet houses classrooms, entertainment spaces and bedrooms, with grounds enabling outdoor learning and sport. Facilities include a pool, tennis court, golf course, football field, basketball and volleyball, table tennis, IT resources and a solar-powered eco shelter. Extra-curriculars include camps, a Forest School, and arts, languages and sports activities.
