SIS Basel is a bilingual day school from Kindergarten through to College. The school has a large blue outdoor sports field used for football. Before- and after-school care is available to children in kindergarten and primary school from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. (start of day) and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with supervision; this service is included in the school fees. Lunch is offered in the school cafeteria with supervision, served by the ZFV catering group; registration is via the ZFV platform. Clubs offer a range of extracurricular activities that can be booked for one semester. The holiday club runs during school breaks with week-long activities under supervision by an experienced team.
SIS Basel International School Basel is a bilingual day school in Basel, Switzerland for students aged 3 to 18. The school offers a bespoke curriculum that combines the Lehrplan 21 with the British curriculum and SIS-developed content, enabling a 50/50 split of English and German from kindergarten through college. Children learn across six curriculum areas: Personal and Social Development; Language Development; Mathematics; Knowledge and Understanding of the World; Physical Development; and Creative Development, taught through immersion with two language teachers and alternating days. The school operates from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with integrated before- and after-school care, lunch supervision, and a range of clubs and regular trips. With around 500 students, SIS Basel emphasises bilingual education and international-mindedness, guided by Principal Marcel Brunner since August 2023. Facilities include an outdoor football field, a cafeteria, and technology-enhanced learning across Kindergarten to SIS Bilingual College, including the IB Diploma Programme today.
