Terra Nova Bilingual School was founded in 1996 in Küsnacht, near Zürich. It provides a bilingual German/English education from pre-kindergarten through the end of primary school, based on the Swiss curriculum with English taught via the Cambridge international curriculum. Lessons are taught in High German and English. Terra Nova joined Academia Group Switzerland in 2017 and has been rooted in the Swiss educational landscape for over 25 years.
The community is lively, welcoming and supportive. The school values close relationships and tailors support to meet each child's unique needs. It is a day school with a homework club and a varied programme of extracurricular activities, including after-school clubs.
Terra Nova Bilingual School in Küsnacht near Zürich offers a bilingual German–English education for ages 3 to 12, based on the Swiss curriculum with English taught through Cambridge Primary. In primary years, instruction in language, mathematics, science and social studies is delivered in parallel in German and English by native speakers, with French introduced from Year 5. Pre-Kindergarten (age 3) is bilingual with a 1:6 ratio; Kindergarten (age 4) is a two-year program split 50/50 between High German and English. After Year 6, the school joins Academia Group Switzerland and provides a pathway to higher education through Academia International School Basel, Winterthur and Zurich, including a Pre-IGCSE for Years 7–8, followed by IGCSE and International A Levels. The campus serves around 150 students with more than 40 teachers. Highlights include after-school programs, ski camps, cultural and language activities, and a school bus connecting Meilen and Tiefenbrunnen. Lunch is included daily.
