Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Grace Christian Academy Taipei began as a ministry of the Nan Kang Grace Baptist Fellowship Church, which has existed for more than forty years. The academy operates as a separate entity from the church and is governed by a leadership team including a Chancellor and a Principal. The school pursued accreditation with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and received full accreditation after a 2015 visit. The WASC visit praised the school's commitment to high caliber education and noted the role of Dr. Owens in shifting from a textbook based approach to a standards based program. The Taiwan Ministry of Education recognizes Grace Christian Academy Taipei as an international school.

Community

Grace Christian Academy, Taipei has a diverse student community. In 2024-25 the student body comprised about 160 students in grades 1-12 representing around 30 countries. The high school has two governing bodies: the Student Government and the Student Honor Society. Community life includes weekly chapel and Bible classes for all students, with opportunities for community service.

Parent-Teacher Association

GCA Taipei does not publish a separate PTA name on its site, but parental involvement is addressed through volunteer opportunities described in the Student Handbook. Parents can volunteer to help with extracurricular activities, chaperone field trips, coach sports, and support leadership and science camps. The school notes a church–school relationship with Nan Kang Grace Baptist Fellowship Church, established more than forty years ago. School events such as Fall Festival, Science Fairs, Field Days, and Christmas programs rely on family involvement. The governance structure includes a Chancellor and Principal, with other administrators, indicating a formal leadership framework that engages the parent community.
