Language Provision

Language learning opportunities and multilingual education

Language Provision

English is the language of instruction in most subjects, with English as an Additional Language (EAL) support for non-native speakers. Mandarin is taught from Pre-K through high school, with two tracks in Grades 1–5 (Native Chinese Learners and Chinese Language Learners) and advanced high school options such as Ab Initio SL and IB Chinese. World languages offered include Spanish and Japanese in middle and high school.

Bilingual Teaching

Mandarin language instruction is integrated into the elementary program, creating a bilingual-friendly environment. In Pre-K and Kindergarten, Chinese is taught in regular classrooms and emphasizes language absorption through play and everyday interactions. In Grades 1–5, Chinese study is offered in two tracks—Native Chinese Learners and Chinese Language Learners—to support literacy development and oral proficiency.

Immersion Programs

Mandarin immersion is provided for Pre-K and Kindergarten, with instruction delivered in regular classrooms to support natural language acquisition. For Grades 1–5, Mandarin continues through the Chinese program in two tracks designed to build foundational Mandarin literacy and conversational ability in authentic contexts. The immersion model emphasizes listening and speaking in real-life settings and integrates Mandarin into daily routines and content areas rather than treating it as a separate subject. High school students can pursue advanced Mandarin study as part of the broader language program.
