TCS Experimental Education was founded by a group of parents who had studied and lived in the US and Canada. They established the school to allow Taiwanese students to stay in Taiwan while receiving an international education. It officially opened after receiving its Taiwanese operating license, with a grand opening on March 24, 2023 at the Linkou campus of the National Taiwan Normal University. The High School program is run in cooperation with the British Columbia Ministry of Education, delivering dual diplomas from the New Taipei City Education Bureau and the BC Ministry of Education. The Middle School program was developed with National Taiwan Normal University based on the Jenaplan philosophy.
Community at TCS Experimental Education is at the heart of how the school operates, with students, families, and staff collaborating to create a culture of trust and shared purpose. The school emphasizes active parent engagement through the Parent-Teacher Association and through formal parent communication via the TCS App. Recent events illustrate this community spirit, including the Celebration of Learning on December 24, 2025, where students showcased learning across classrooms, exhibitions, and performances. Other community activities have included the Terry Fox Run × TCS Family Day 2025 and the Shoebox Project, which involved students and staff across the school.
The PTA is described as a vital partner in shaping student life and supporting the school's mission. Through the PTA, parents and guardians have opportunities to collaborate with teachers, share ideas, and help create meaningful programs for students. PTA activities include organizing events and fostering connections between families, helping strengthen the school community. The school emphasizes strong parent communication through the TCS App, which provides real-time updates on school news, events, and student progress to support PTA efforts. Community-oriented events such as the Terry Fox Run × TCS Family Day 2025 illustrate active family participation and school-community collaboration.
