VIS International Experimental Education in Taipei was founded in 2019 by the Wanxiang International Cultural Education Association – Betterworld Lab (WICEA-betterworld lab). The school operates under the VIS Foundation, with Dr. Mei-Chin Lin serving as Principal Investigator. It serves students in Grades 5–12 across two campuses: Senior High on Roosevelt Road (3F, 4F and 6F of No. 97, Sec. 1, Roosevelt Rd., Zhongzheng District) and Junior High at No. 13, Ln. 133, Sec. 4, Roosevelt Rd., Da'an District. The curriculum blends an Ontario framework with Project-Based Learning and Advanced Placement options, and VIS maintains affiliations with the College Board, the Council of International Schools, and the British Council Partner School Global Network, while pursuing Western Association of Schools and Colleges candidacy.
VIS's school community includes a Student Council, a range of clubs, and ongoing community service activities that connect families with campus life. The school hosts biannual PBL Exhibitions at Huashan 1914 Creative Park and hosts Alumni Panels where former students share experiences with current students and families. Parent involvement is supported through events such as VIS Afternoon Tea for current parents, and parent-focused talks like Life Design presentations; Discover Taipei activities also involve parents in learning experiences. Activities like SLC (Student Led Conferences) and regular club/community events foster interaction among students, families, and staff.
The VIS site does not publish a formal PTA, but parent engagement is facilitated through a series of school-led events and programs. Examples include VIS Afternoon Tea for parents (an in-person event with the Chancellor and alumni parents), Life Design presentations for parents, and the annual Student Led Conference (SLC) where students lead the discussion with teachers and parents. Alumni Panels regularly feature VIS graduates and CIC alumni sharing college applications and planning experiences with current families. PBL Exhibitions invite parent attendance to view student projects, and book launches and Discover Taipei events explicitly welcome parents as participants. These activities illustrate structured channels for parent involvement even in the absence of a published PTA organization.
