Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Eligibility and admission routes: Arthur Rimbaud accepts students from the AEFE network without admission exams. Transfers from accredited French schools may occur directly depending on available positions; for any other case, admissions follow a procedure that includes a placement test. As of the Christmas holidays there are no new admissions for the elementary level starting from CP for students not arriving from a school accredited by the Ministry of Education. 2. Start the online enrolment: Begin the enrolment by clicking the 'Click here to start the enrolment process' link to access the Skolengo-managed application. 3. Sign regulations electronically: The electronic validation of enrolment conditions on Skolengo serves as the official signature of the school's regulations and charters. 4. Prepare and submit required documents: Review and submit the informative documents (School fees; 2025-2026 School calendar; 2025-2026 Financial regulations; Enrolment process guide; Acknowledgement of the financial regulations) and the additional documents (Educational contract; Internal regulations; Catering internal regulations; Swimming pool regulations). 5. Financial obligations: Families are responsible for paying school fees and must make payments on time for the school to function properly. 6. Admissions timeline and notes: The school year runs from September to June and consists of 36 teaching weeks; transfers from accredited schools may be direct depending on space, while others follow the placement-test process. Entry windows include a restriction for non-accredited elementary entrants around Christmas.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

The 2024-2025 scholarship campaign is the second period; the deadline is Friday, September 27, 2024 at 12:00. Applications and all required supporting documents must be submitted to the French Embassy by appointment. The package includes an Announcement, a Form, and a List of supporting documents.

École Française Arthur-Rimbaud in Dar es Salaam is a bilingual French school serving ages 2 to 18 within the AEFE network. The curriculum follows the French national education program and is taught in French and English, with a primary-level British international section. The school operates on two Masaki campuses: the main campus houses Primary and Secondary, while a second campus provides Preschool facilities and a covered sports field. Approximately 500 students from 48 nationalities learn in both languages, with language pathways including Spanish, Italian and German from age 12, and Japanese from Grade 10. Libraries on both campuses support research and media education. Extracurricular activities span more than 40 options each year and are conducted in French and English. The Sustainability Committee coordinates environmental projects, while language programs foster multilingualism. The school is AEFE-affiliated, connecting students to a global network of French international schools. Facilities include two libraries across campuses.
