Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Amnuay Silpa School was founded in 1926 by Phra Ajarn Amnuay Silpa-archa as a tutorial school for upper secondary students preparing for university entrance. It was one of the first private institutions in Thailand to focus on academic advancement and has since evolved into a bilingual day school offering both Thai and British curricula. The school has remained privately owned, operating under a Thai licence while integrating UK qualifications such as IGCSEs and A Levels. Its development reflects a long-standing emphasis on academic preparation and bilingual education over nearly a century.

Community

The school hosts a range of cultural events throughout the year, including Thai national celebrations, Loy Krathong, and Chinese New Year. Students also take part in community service initiatives and school-wide camps starting in Year 2. Music, arts, and performance events are integrated into the calendar, involving students from both the Thai and English strands.

Parent-Teacher Association

The Amnuay Silpa PTA plays an active role in strengthening school-home collaboration. It supports cultural celebrations like Wai Khru Day and organises events such as International Day, where families contribute food and customs from various countries. PTA volunteers often assist with student camps, charity drives, and performances. Regular meetings and forums offer parents a structured way to engage with school leadership and curriculum updates. The PTA also runs fundraising activities in support of school initiatives. It welcomes participation from both Thai and international parents, reflecting the school’s bilingual ethos.
