Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

California Prep International School was founded in 2007 by a group of Seventh-day Adventist educators with the aim of combining strong academics with values-based education. It operates under the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which is recognized globally for its network of schools and universities. Since its opening, the school has expanded its facilities and programs to serve students from early childhood through Grade 12. Over the years, it has maintained a consistent focus on preparing students for international higher education while fostering a close-knit, values-oriented environment.

Community

The school community is diverse, bringing together students and families from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Events such as International Day, Christmas programs, and cultural celebrations are held annually to encourage understanding and appreciation of global traditions. The school also organizes charity drives and outreach programs, strengthening the sense of shared responsibility within the community.

Parent-Teacher Association

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at California Prep International School plays an active role in supporting both academic and extracurricular life. The group helps organize school-wide events such as the International Food Fair, Sports Day, and cultural celebrations. Parents are regularly involved in fundraising projects that contribute to campus improvements and student resources. The PTA also facilitates workshops and parent forums to strengthen home–school collaboration. Through its committees, the PTA builds strong connections between families, teachers, and administrators, ensuring a cooperative approach to student learning and well-being.
