Chiang Rai International Christian School began in 1998 as a small co-op called the Family Learning Center, founded by missionary families who wanted long-term schooling for their children. In 2007, the Christian Education Foundation of Thailand formalized the school project, which led to land acquisition, construction of a campus, and legal registration as an international school. The new campus opened in late 2011, and in January 2012, the community celebrated a Grand Opening ceremony. CRICS gained accreditation from WASC, ACSI, and ONESQA in 2015 and was reaccredited in 2020.
CRICS hosts a range of community and cultural events such as International Day, Family Game Night, and themed celebrations like Ancient Greece Sports Day, all designed and led by Student Council representatives. These gatherings foster fellowship among students, families, and staff and celebrate different cultures.
CRICS does not appear to have a formal Parent‑Teacher Association (PTA) publicly noted on its website.
