Uniforms are required and sold at the school shop with a no-exchange policy. Foundation girls wear a white blouse with a navy pinafore; Foundation boys wear a blue shirt with navy shorts; Primary and Secondary wear blue shirts with beige skirts or beige shorts, and Sixth Form wear grey shirts with grey trousers or skirts. PE kit is a white dry-fit polo shirt with blue shorts; a HeadStart jacket is optional from Year 3 and only this jacket is allowed; sandals are not allowed.
Lunch is provided for all pupils with healthy, low-sugar and low-salt meals using local produce; dietary requirements are accommodated with permission. Snacks are provided during morning and afternoon breaks. A coffee shop run by an external operator offers additional items. The Food Service Committee represents pupils, teachers, parents and professionals and advises on menus and food quality.
Every student and staff member belongs to a House: Red Phoenixes, Yellow Cheetahs, Green Dragons, and Blue Tigers. The system promotes TUFF (Teamwork. Unity. Friendship. Fun.); Friday is House shirt day and houses compete in quizzes, sports and other activities for points toward a final prize.
The school is privately owned by shareholders. The Board of Directors delegates long-term strategy to the School Board and day-to-day operations to the Senior Management Team, including a CEO, School Director, Headmaster and Primary and Secondary Principals.
Located in central Phuket, HeadStart International School’s Chaofah City Campus offers a British-style education for children aged 2–18.
