Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

KAIS began as Adventist International Mission School Korat (AIMS-Korat) after Korat parents advocated opening an Adventist international school in Nakhon Ratchasima. Sixteen students were enrolled in the first year at a rented, renovated kindergarten facility. In 2015, AIMS-Korat was owned and managed by Thailand Adventist Mission, and a new 9-rai campus was purchased in 2016; the school moved to the new campus in 2019 after a 2018 groundbreaking. The school's licensing expanded over time (grades 1–3 licensed in 2009, K1–3 in 2010, 4–6 in 2011, 7–9 in 2015, 10–12 in 2018) and WASC accreditation followed in 2017; on January 18, 2021 the name changed to Korat Adventist International School (KAIS) and it was officially registered on September 27, 2021.

Community

KAIS has a diverse community with over 200 students and more than 10 nationalities. The KAIS Christmas Program (The Promise Fulfilled) is a major annual event that involves families and the broader school community. Pathfinder and Adventurer Induction ceremonies demonstrate active parent involvement in student clubs. Field trips and seasonal activities, such as Bible Quest and Environmental Awareness Day, are regular features of KAIS life. Public pages also show community events like the Petanque Competition and the Korat Education Expo Gallery that engage students, families, and staff.

Parent-Teacher Association

KAIS operates with a parent involvement framework tied to a School Board and active family participation in school life. Major events like the KAIS Christmas Program rely on family involvement and volunteer support. Pathfinder and Adventurer inductions illustrate parent engagement in student clubs. Field trips and related activities show parent volunteers supporting experiential learning. Environmental Awareness Day and events such as the Petanque Competition and Korat Education Expo Gallery demonstrate ongoing community participation. Public pages show these events as part of KAIS's community life, reflecting a structured approach to parent involvement through formal school governance.
