Lamai International School, located in the Maret sub-district of Koh Samui, opened in January 2016. It welcomes children from age 3 through early secondary years in a co-educational setting, with class sizes capped at twenty students. The youngest learners follow the Early Years Foundation Stage through a Montessori approach, while older students progress into the Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary curriculum. All instruction is in English, and the program is complemented by the school’s Education for Sustainable Development initiative, which integrates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into daily learning. The school day runs from 08:35 to 16:00, including a lunch break and optional extracurricular activities in the afternoon. Transportation is available, and students receive a morning snack and lunch each day. The school is particularly noted for its focus on sustainability, small class sizes for close teacher support, and its integration of academic subjects with creative and environmental learning.
