Two international kindergartens operate in Phuket, at Chalong and Rawai. The school uses a Canadian curriculum and integrates the UK EYFS framework. Classes are taught in English, with basic Thai taught in some sessions. Reading skills progress rapidly, with phonics instruction (Jolly Phonics) starting from age 3 and strong reading by age 5.
The environment emphasizes creativity and exploration. The philosophy describes a play-based approach with a focus on social, practical, musical and educational opportunities, supported by gardens and outdoor space for imaginative activities. The curriculum includes science experiments and space-related learning, delivered in a creative context.
Thai language lessons are part of the program, and most classes are taught in English with basic Thai taught in some sessions. Chinese language is offered as an extra class on Mondays (3:15–4:00 pm) as part of after-school enrichment, with instruction in English and Chinese. The school recognizes the importance of early language learning and supports multilingual exposure.
Extra-curricular activities run after school, including Robotics (Tuesdays 3:15–4:00 pm), Gymnastics (Thursdays 3:15–4:00 pm) and Chinese language (Mondays 3:15–4:00 pm). These activities are offered at low cost and spaces are limited. Parents receive a Friday report on their child's performance and the school supports small class sizes.
The Chalong campus was established in 2021 and the Rawai campus opened in 2025. Gardens and natural outdoor spaces support imaginative, active play in a safe environment. Indoor facilities keep children active; a minibus runs between the Chalong and Rawai campuses for student transport; a weekly Friday report keeps parents informed.
Lighthouse Chalong International Kindergarten & School delivers a hands-on, play-based curriculum for children aged 1–7 years, rooted in the Canadian Flight framework and enriched with influences from Montessori, Waldorf, and EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). The program emphasizes cognitive skills (pattern recognition, sequencing, vocabulary), physical development (motor coordination, balance), social‑emotional growth (confidence, empathy, group play), and self-help abilities (personal care, responsibility). Learning includes early literacy through Jolly Phonics, Thai language basics, arithmetic, science, art, music, and outdoor activities, supported by indoor and outdoor play areas, sandpit, water-play, climbing equipment, and secure fenced grounds. Classes are kept small and staffed by native English-speaking, experienced educators to ensure stable, individualized learning.
