Mill Hill International School Thailand opened on 1 September 2025 as the first overseas Mill Hill International School outside the UK, located in Chiang Mai. It was announced in September 2024 that the school would open in September 2025 in partnership with Ornsirin, with Kate Simon named as founding Head, coming from Mill Hill Pre-Prep in London. A Thai government inspection in April 2025 awarded the school its licence, enabling its opening. The campus was designed to reflect Mill Hill heritage, including a replica of the iconic Mill Hill pillars, and the first phase was planned to accommodate Nursery to Year 6 with an intake of about 150–160 students.
Mill Hill International School Thailand is part of the Mill Hill Family of Schools, with a network that spans from London to Chiang Mai and access to over 250 acres of grounds across locations, fostering a sense of community and shared identity. The school's materials speak of a 'community feel, global reach,' reflecting its position within a wider international group. Early Years programmes incorporate Thai traditions, such as the Marvellous Middle concept, to connect classroom learning with local culture. Open Days and private tours are regularly hosted to engage prospective families and members of the local community.
There is no publicly documented standing Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Mill Hill International School Thailand; no PTA officers, committees or regular PTA events are listed in public materials. Parent engagement appears to be facilitated through school-hosted events such as Open Days and private tours, and through ongoing family communications. Kate Simon, Founding Head, is presented as a lead figure in school-family engagement. The school publishes term dates and admissions information to guide families and supports ongoing dialogue between the school and parents. Open Days are offered on a regular cadence, with private tours available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. If a formal PTA is established in the future, it would be a distinct body separate from these ongoing school-led engagement activities.
Mill Hill International School Thailand opened its first school year in 2025 in Doi Saket, Chiang Mai, within Ornsirin City Park on the 3rd Ring Road. The school follows the British Curriculum, beginning with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for ages 3–5, continuing through Prep (5–13), and on to Senior (13–18). Facilities include a library and a Pre-Prep swimming pool, with future developments planned such as a 500-seat auditorium for drama and concerts, a Learning Centre with a Maker Space and science laboratories, and extensive sports grounds including a football field, running track, and tennis courts. The school is co-educational, with boys and girls learning together, and offers after-school activities that build on specialist subjects like Physical Education, Music, Computing, Library Studies, Forest School, and Mindfulness.
