Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Pastoral care lies at the heart of life at Mill Hill International School Thailand, with the school stating that every pupil should feel safe, supported and valued, which underpins confidence, emotional wellbeing and personal growth. Pupils quickly develop strong social skills, emotional intelligence, and a sense of equality as they learn, work, and play together. The school emphasises resilience and perseverance as essential parts of learning, encouraging pupils to take risks and view mistakes as part of growth. This wellbeing focus is reflected in the group aims, which highlight promoting wellbeing and developing emotional intelligence as core objectives. Mindfulness is taught as a specialist subject to support students' social and emotional development.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Learning Support is provided with tailored support intended to help each pupil thrive. The site notes that policies and reports will be released shortly, and does not publish detailed SEN categories or a specialist SEN institution status. Public materials describe Learning Support but do not specify which kinds of Special Educational Needs the school can formally accommodate. The Mill Hill Thailand materials emphasise wellbeing and inclusive development as part of their aims, which aligns with an inclusive ethos. No explicit, published SEN roster or staff roles beyond Learning Support are listed.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The publicly available materials do not describe a dedicated English as an Additional Language (EAL) program for Mill Hill International School Thailand. Learning Support is referenced, but there is no explicit EAL provision described on the site. Mindfulness is listed as a specialist subject, and there is no separate EAL section among the described curriculum components. The school presents a British curriculum and an international ethos, but language-support specifics are not published. Therefore, EAL provision cannot be confirmed from the publicly available materials.

Mental Wellbeing

Pastoral care is central to student wellbeing, with the school asserting that pupils thrive when they are safe, supported and valued, leading to confidence and emotional wellbeing. The Our Values page explicitly recognises wellbeing as part of its aims, alongside emotional intelligence and adaptability. Mindfulness is included as a specialist subject to support mental wellbeing. The group aims mention promoting wellbeing and developing emotional intelligence as core outcomes for pupils. Overall, resilience and a positive mindset are emphasised as key aspects of learning.

Safeguarding

The safeguarding commitment states that the safety, wellbeing, and protection of every pupil are the highest priorities, with a robust safeguarding culture grounded in Mill Hill Education Group experience. The school lists a Designed Safeguarding Lead (Deputy Head) and provides contact emails for reporting concerns regarding pupils, staff, the Head, the School Director, and the School Business Manager. Specific safeguarding contacts include Mrs Jen Ticehurst (Deputy Head, Designed Safeguarding Lead), Mrs Kate Simon (Head), Dr. Yuthachai Damrongmanee (School Director), and Ms Kanyanuk Rattanasatchan (School Business Manager), with corresponding emails. The page also provides guidance on where to report concerns and links to related safeguarding resources.
