RBIS was founded in 1971 as Rasami British International School in central Bangkok. Over time it grew into a single-campus day school serving students from 18 months to 18 years. The school is privately operated under its own governance and joined FOBISIA in October 2023. Ownership details beyond this are not publicly disclosed.
Students at RBIS participate regularly in community service projects, such as rebuilding a playground in Phitsanulok and packing meals for the homeless with the Bangkok Community Help Foundation. They also celebrate cultural events like Loy Krathong and host annual charity fundraisers and Jog-A-Thon events.
