It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
The school emphasises cooperative play and creative group activities designed to support children as they reach social and emotional milestones naturally within daily routines. Staff routinely observe children to tailor interactions and ensure emotional needs are understood and met in group and individual contexts. The facilities, including indoor/outdoor classrooms and a sensory-focused playground, support reflection, empathy, and self-awareness through exploration and guided discovery.
RIS provides a Learning Support programme at all levels, including Pre‑K, overseen by a psychologist-led Student Services team. When learning difficulties in areas like literacy or numeracy arise, an Individual Education Plan (IEP) is established with input from teachers, parents, learning support staff, and a school psychologist. Support is delivered through push-in models and accommodations within mainstream classrooms. While not a specialist SEN school, RIS offers structured support for mild to moderate needs, including speech, learning, and behavioural challenges.
The school operates an English Language Development (ELD) programme, with specialists working with non-native speakers in small group or co‑teaching settings. Older students receive support through pull-out and in-class ELD sessions; secondary students may take IB English B support classes.
School counsellors and a school psychologist collaborate as part of a Student Study Team to support pupils’ emotional development. Counselling is offered at individual, small-group, and whole-class levels, and referrals are made when concerns arise. Psychological and educational evaluations inform tailored support plans alongside parental and teacher involvement.
RIS maintains a dedicated Child Safeguarding Task Force, led by a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), supported by deputies, counselors, and section principals. It enforces a safeguarding code of conduct aligned with the Thai Child Protection Act and UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. All staff undergo annual safeguarding and conduct training, and recruitment includes police checks along with formal conduct policies for visitors and staff. Electronic gate systems, ID card access, CCTV monitoring, and reporting protocols support on-site child protection.
Ruamrudee International School Early Years Campus (RISE), launched in August 2020, serves children aged 18 months to 5 years, offering Playgroup through Kindergarten on its 2.4‑acre site in Bangkok’s eastern Khlong Sam Wa district. Classes are small and led by certified early‑childhood teachers trained in the Reggio Emilia approach, supported by instructional aides and nannies. RISE follows a child‑centred American curriculum, aligned with RIS Minburi, enriched with Reggio‑inspired units of investigation, sensory art, Seed‑to‑Table organic gardening, and a nature‑inspired playground and atelier space. Specialist subjects including Thai language, music, art, theatre & dance, and values are integrated weekly. A signature feature is the Seed‑to‑Table program, where children plant, observe and harvest fresh produce in pesticide‑free garden beds. This experiential environment is designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and readiness for primary education.
