Rugby School Thailand was founded through a partnership between the Teepsuwan family, who own the school land, and Rugby School UK. The Teepsuwan family allocated 80 acres for the campus and partnered with Rugby UK to establish the school, which opened in September 2017 for Pre‑Nursery through Year 6. Years 7–13 and boarding facilities were added in September 2018, beginning with Year 6 boarders. Nigel Westlake, former UK independent school head, served as the founding headmaster. Rugby School Thailand operates under Rugby School International Limited, maintaining quality oversight from Rugby UK.
The school community participates in a range of whole-school events such as House competitions, residential trips, and charity initiatives, fostering collaboration and involvement beyond the classroom. The launch of ‘The Rugbeian Community of Thailand’ in 2023 brought together alumni, parents, staff, and school leaders for networking and community building via events like the Spring Soirée in Bangkok. Weekly newsletters and News & Events updates keep families informed about activities across the school year.
The Rugby School Parent Association (RSPTA) connects parents through a variety of regular events and community-building activities. These include Parent Workshops focused on areas like curriculum understanding and supporting learning at home, as well as informal Coffee Mornings to encourage social interaction among parents. The RSPTA supports engagement at broader school events and helps foster a collaborative school-family environment.
