Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

“Sarasas Ektra” was founded in 1995, evolving from the earlier “Extra Class” bilingual track started in 1993 at Sarasas Pittaya School. It was the first bilingual (Thai–English) school licensed by Thailand’s Private Education Commission and joined the Sarasas Affiliated Schools group. In 2010, the school introduced the GAC program via a partnership with ACT Education Solutions.

Community

The school community celebrates Thai cultural occasions (e.g., Loy Krathong, Mother’s Day, Wai Kru), hosts regular music concerts and science fairs, and runs charity initiatives like charity toy donations and blood drives . These events encourage participation from students, parents, and staff.

Parent-Teacher Association

There is no public information on the school website detailing a PTA structure, specific parent–teacher committees, or organized parent-led events.

Sarasas Ektra School, founded in 1995 in Bangkok’s Bang Phongphang district, is Thailand’s first fully bilingual (Thai‑English) private day school. It welcomes children from nursery to year 12, with bilingual instruction across all levels. From Primary, English covers approximately 30–70% of lessons, supported by Chinese and Japanese language classes. In upper secondary, students can follow the school-designed Extra Class program or the externally accredited Global Assessment Certificate (GAC), preparing them for international university entry. The school hosts events such as annual Science Day for project exhibitions, Music Works festivals, and traditional celebrations, supporting both academic and creative growth . Known for small GAC classes that build independent learning and research skills, Sarasas Ektra also emphasizes IT-integrated, child-centered teaching.
