Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

St. Andrews International School Dusit was established in 2010 to serve younger students in central Bangkok, starting with just five children in a single building near Chitralada Palace. The school was created as a response to the growing demand for high-quality, British-style early years and primary education in a central urban setting. Over time, it expanded to include new facilities such as a Key Stage 2 building, swimming pool, and specialist rooms. In 2016, Dusit became part of the Cognita Schools Group, an international network of schools, which introduced independent safeguarding reviews and educational audits. Today, the campus serves approximately 340 students across Nursery to Year 6 and continues to operate with a focus on small class sizes and inclusive education.

Community

Dusit supports a small community of Thai and expatriate families working closely through volunteer activity, fundraising, and event organisation. The school collaborates with local charities such as Rajvithi Girls School and Solar Buddy to give students practical community involvement.

Parent-Teacher Association

Dusit does have a Parent Teacher Group. The PTG meets regularly and provides informal venues for parents to connect, such as a parent-run café. It organizes social events, supports fundraising efforts, welcomes new families, and hosts discussion sessions with staff and leadership. There is also an annual “Voice of the Parent” survey to gather feedback and guide improvement. The school maintains an open‑door policy for parent communication with staff and leadership.
