Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

St. Stephen’s International School was founded in 1998 by Kris Assakul with the goal of creating a small, inclusive school that combined Thai cultural values with a British-style education. The school began as a modest campus in the Chatuchak district of Bangkok and was one of the first international schools in Thailand to adopt the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and later the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC). Over time, it expanded its academic offering to include Cambridge IGCSEs and A Levels. Despite its growth, the school has retained a community-oriented atmosphere with relatively small class sizes and a focus on personalised learning. In 2024, St. Stephen’s announced the development of a second Bangkok campus, marking a new chapter in its expansion and commitment to long-term educational investment in Thailand.

Community

The school community is small and close-knit, with students and families supporting each other. Events like intercultural days, school performances, and residential trips are regularly organised to foster interaction across year groups and nationalities.

Parent-Teacher Association

The school does not have a formal PTA. However, it runs parent volunteer groups and class parent reps who help organise events, support new families, and liaise with school leadership.
