The school’s counselling team schedules SEL time with students in all grades, focusing on emotional awareness, resilience, and interpersonal skills. Staff provide one-on-one and small group sessions to support personal growth. Mindfulness practices are woven into regular routines, helping students manage emotions. Advisory teachers guide students over the long term.
XCL ASB’s Learning Support Department supports students with mild to moderate learning needs across Grades K–12 via early screening, learning profiles, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and resource-room or in-class support. Teachers, support staff, and parents collaborate for each student’s learning plan. The school does not function as a specialist SEN institution.
The English Language Learner (ELL) programme offers assessment-based support for multilingual students, using tools such as WIDA testing. ELL instruction is coordinated with class teachers and may be delivered in or out of the classroom. This support is available through to Grade 12 where needed.
Counsellors at XCL ASB focus on mental health and wellbeing, offering regular scheduled sessions and on-demand support for individual or small group needs. Mindfulness techniques are taught to help students manage stress and self-regulate. The school frames these interventions as part of its broader emotional support framework.
XCL ASB maintains a comprehensive Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, which includes controlled gate access, visitor ID badges, and mandatory staff training. Students leaving campus must sign out through the Principal’s office; vehicles must display school stickers for identification. In cases of emergency school-wide closure, families are alerted via phone, email, SMS, or social media.
XCL American School of Bangkok (Sukhumvit) serves students aged 2 to 18 in Pre‑K through Grade 12. Established in 1983, it offers an American curriculum aligned with Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards, and in high school a wide Advanced Placement (AP) programme including AP Capstone with over 20 AP courses available. Located on Sukhumvit Road near BTS Thong Lor and Phrom Phong stations, the school has classrooms, science labs, media centre, library, swimming pool, sports complex, gym and music studios. Project‑Based Learning and Social‑Emotional Learning are integral across grade levels. Students come from over 40 nationalities, and middle/high school students engage in community hours service projects. Support is available for EAL (English as Additional Language) and learning needs on a case‑by‑case basis. Graduates have received multi‑million‑dollar scholarship offers from universities worldwide.
