ACI implements the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for the final two years of secondary education. The IB Diploma Programme is the first IB-authorized program in the Aegean Region, and it requires students to select six courses from the six groups, with three at Standard Level and three at Higher Level, plus the Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and the CAS core. To earn the diploma, students must obtain at least 24 points out of 45 and meet all program requirements. The program is designed to prepare students for universities worldwide.
ISTA (International Schools Theatre Association) is part of ACI's arts offerings, connecting students with wider theatre opportunities. ISTA activities include conferences, workshops, and festivals that broaden cultural exchange and theatre skills. Students participate in shows, plays, concerts, ballet performances, and exhibitions outside school.
ACI maintains a multilingual approach with English as the language of instruction and foreign language options such as French, German, and Spanish. MUN clubs are available in French and German for students interested in language practice. English-language development is supported alongside these additional language options to broaden international perspectives.

The program emphasizes research, debate, public speaking, and teamwork, with over 100 extracurricular options supporting student growth.
The P.E. Department organizes sports during the daily lunch break to keep students physically active outside the classroom. Activities include singles tennis, mini-soccer, streetball, three-point shooting, and beach volleyball. ACI teams compete in Ministry of Education leagues and private tournaments, and the Shepard Cup is hosted on campus.
The American Collegiate Institute (ACI) is a private, co-educational day school in Izmir, Turkey. Instruction is English, with Turkish Language and Literature and Turkish Social Sciences taught in Turkish. ACI offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for two years, with six courses (three SL and three HL), Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and CAS. The Diploma was introduced in 2005; ACI was the first IB-authorized school in Aegean Region. The school is part of SEV network and maintains a link with the United States since its founding in 1878.
