Facilities Overview

The campus features a purpose-built science facility with multiple laboratories, a 550-seat Blake Performing Arts Center and Exhibition Hall, and computer and arts facilities. There is an outdoor amphitheatre and outdoor sports courts, and academic buildings housing over 30 classrooms for teaching and learning. The Taner Building is the newest main-campus building and houses prep, grade 9 and 10 students, with additional science and computer labs, classrooms, and the middle/high school cafeteria. The top floor of the Taner Building is the girls' residence for 60 boarding students. Across the street from the main gate is the boys' residence, opened in September 2012, housing 81 male residents. Naomi Foster Library has over 43,000 titles and provides online databases and global video-conferencing facilities.

Sports Facilities

The Shepard Sports Hall provides multi-court spaces for teams and includes a full fitness center, a dance/aerobics studio, table tennis, and a squash court. The P.E. Department runs daily lunch-break competitions such as singles tennis, mini-soccer, streetball, three-point shooting, and beach volleyball. ACI teams compete in basketball, volleyball, football, and badminton and host its own sports tournaments on campus, including the Shepard Cup. Out-of-school competitions include Konak Ministry of Education events such as street basketball, beach volleyball, and cross-country races.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Over 100 extracurricular options are available. TÜBİTAK club students are recognized with many awards for successful projects. The school supports MUN, Junior Achievement, and Robotics teams. Social service clubs offer ambassadors under the motto "Enter to learn, Depart to serve".

The American Collegiate Institute (ACI) is a private, co-educational day school in Izmir, Turkey. Instruction is English, with Turkish Language and Literature and Turkish Social Sciences taught in Turkish. ACI offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for two years, with six courses (three SL and three HL), Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and CAS. The Diploma was introduced in 2005; ACI was the first IB-authorized school in Aegean Region. The school is part of SEV network and maintains a link with the United States since its founding in 1878. Facilities include a science facility, a 550-seat Blake Performing Arts Center and Exhibition Hall, computer and arts facilities, and the Naomi Foster Library with over 43,000 titles. Taner Building houses upper secondary labs; boarding options include a girls' residence (60) and a boys' residence (81).
