In Grade 5, students choose one foreign language from Spanish, French, or German and continue studying that language through graduation, earning Language Proficiency Certificates at A1, A2, and B1 levels. A second foreign language program begins in the High School Preparatory Class and continues through Grade 12.
The school offers a bilingual Education Program in Turkish and English that starts in Preschool and continues through Grade 12, with Preschool at 50% Turkish and 50% English. Primary and Middle School English instruction totals 10 hours per week, with Mathematics and Science taught bilingually in Middle School. In High School, English is used for English Language and Literature, Science, Mathematics, and selected electives, and the Preparatory Level provides 24 hours of English per week. An English Proficiency Exam is required for the transition from Preparatory to High School.
Some subjects are delivered bilingually in English and Turkish, including Middle School Science. In High School, the English Preparatory Program provides English-language instruction.
Hisar School operates a Göktürk campus in Istanbul, offering a K-12 bilingual Turkish–English program. The curriculum blends the national MoNE framework with a school-designed curriculum to enrich learning and develop bilingual proficiency from Preschool through Grade 12. In Preschool, instruction is evenly split between Turkish and English; in Primary, English is taught for about 10 hours weekly with integrated listening, speaking, reading and writing activities. The High/Scope-inspired Plan–Do–Review approach and Movement Education support active, student-centered learning. In Middle and High School, English-language content is strengthened, AP courses are available, and the school acts as an AP exam center.
