MEF International School Izmir

Located in Gaziemir, Izmir, near Izmir airport. The campus is in a residential area with convenient access to local transport. Transportation to and from MEF IS Izmir is provided by a contracted service bus (Özaltın Turizim).

Reception to Grade 12; ages 3–18.

Co-educational day international school; offers the IB Diploma Programme; Cambridge International Programmes (CAIE) for Primary, Lower Secondary and IGCSE.

Learning Support includes English Language Learning (ELL) and Additional English Support (AES). ELL is provided in classrooms and through pull-out sessions for beginners; in-class support and differentiated instruction are available for non-native English learners.

Turkey

School hours are 8:40–15:25. The day comprises seven 45-minute lessons with two recess breaks and one lunch break.

A contracted service bus is provided by Özaltın Turizim for transportation to and from school.

Application and Registration Fees
- Application fee (new applicants): USD 1,250 (one-time, non-refundable).
- Registration fee (new applicants, Grade 1+): USD 3,500 (one-time, non-refundable). Registration for Early Childhood Cohort (ECC) is paid when the child starts Grade 1.

Placement Fee
- The placement fee is an annual, non-negotiable fee that applies to all students (new and returning). Placement fees are listed below in the payment-plan section and must be paid to secure a student's place. Returning students must pay the placement fee by March 31, 2026; new students pay immediately upon confirmation of admission.

Annual tuition, food charge and VAT (Academic Year 2026–2027) — per year group
- Early Years (Reception 1 & 2): Tuition USD 16,610; Food USD 2,690; Total (including 10% VAT) USD 19,300. Reception 1 half-day program receives a 20% discount off the full-day program fee.
- Kindergarten: Tuition USD 24,165; Food USD 2,690; Total (including 10% VAT) USD 26,855.
- Primary School (Grades 1–5): Tuition USD 32,500; Food USD 3,240; Total (including 10% VAT) USD 35,740.

Installment payment plan (Placement fee + five installments) — amounts and due dates
- Placement fee due by March 31, 2026 (amounts listed per year group below). Tuition installments are scheduled across five payments; the installments are due on or before the following dates: 1st installment — May 15, 2026; 2nd — July 15, 2026; 3rd — September 15, 2026; 4th — November 15, 2026; 5th — January 15, 2027. The Payment Plan must be signed in person in the Admissions Office.
- Early Years (Reception 1 & 2): Placement fee USD 4,000; Installments: USD 3,060 (each) for five installments. Total (VAT included): USD 19,300.
- Kindergarten: Placement fee USD 5,000; Installments: USD 4,371 (each) for five installments. Total (VAT included): USD 26,855.
- Primary School (Grades 1–5): Placement fee USD 6,000; Installments: USD 5,948 (each) for five installments. Total (VAT included): USD 35,740.
- Middle School (Grades 6–7): Placement fee USD 6,500; Installments: USD 6,083 (each) for five installments. Total (VAT included): USD 36,915.
- Middle School (Grade 8): Placement fee USD 6,500; Installments: USD 6,237 (each) for five installments. Total (VAT included): USD 37,685.
- High School (Grades 9–10): Placement fee USD 7,000; Installments: USD 6,739 (each) for five installments. Total (VAT included): USD 40,695.
- IB-1: Placement fee USD 7,000; Installments: USD 6,773 (each) for five installments. Total (VAT included): USD 40,865.
- IB-2: Placement fee USD 7,000; Installments: USD 6,993 (each) for five installments. Total (VAT included): USD 41,965.

VAT and discounts
- A 10% VAT is applied to education fees for the 2026–27 academic year. VAT is shown in the totals above. Diplomatic/consular VAT exemption rules apply where fees are paid by a government or consulate and appropriate documentation is provided.
- Early payment discount: payment made in full before March 6, 2026 receives a 2% discount. Sibling, corporate and loyalty discounts apply to tuition only (not to the application, registration or placement fees); total discount cannot exceed 25%.

Other costs and items not included in tuition
- Included in tuition: cooked lunch, morning and afternoon snacks, textbooks, yearbook, one PE uniform, and clubs/sports/music/art provided by MEF IS teachers during school hours and after school. Cambridge Checkpoint and up to eight IGCSE exam fees are covered as specified; IB DP final exam fees for one session are included (re-marks/re-takes excluded).
- Not included in tuition (possible additional costs): school bus transportation, devices (laptop/iPad), personal stationery, exam fees for IELTS/TOEFL/SAT/ACT, clubs or trainers provided by external organisations, extended/overnight trips beyond the city, exam re-marks, late entry fees and similar exam-related charges. Families are expected to provide student devices according to published specifications for Middle and High School.

Uniform and incidental charges
- One Physical Education uniform is included in tuition. Additional uniform items, replacement items, personal stationery and optional external activities are not included and may incur extra charges.

Refunds and withdrawal terms
- Withdrawal refunds: A 10% deduction will be made from the full year school fees (placement fee + yearly tuition) when a child's enrollment is withdrawn during the academic year. If the school year has not begun, the remaining amount after the 10% deduction will be reimbursed in full. For withdrawals during the school year, the refund after the 10% deduction will be prorated based on the number of days until withdrawal. Refunds are made to the party who submitted the original payment; late fees (if any) are not refundable.

Overdue payments and penalties
- Payments not received by the installment deadlines are delinquent and a late fee of 3% will be added to past-due accounts. If payment is not made within one month, parents will be asked to pay in full or withdraw the child. If no payment is made within two months, the account may be sent to a legal collection agency.

Billing system and invoicing
- The annual school fee is divided into ten equal monthly amounts (September–June). E-invoices are issued automatically at the end of each completed month and sent to the assigned parent's email address. If invoices are to be issued to a company, company details and official documentation must be provided at the beginning of the year.

Payment methods and bank details summary
- Payments must be made in US dollars and to the school's USD bank account. Bank transfers are accepted; transfers are subject to bank charges and parents must ensure transfer charges are covered so the school receives the full USD amount. After payment, email a copy of the bank receipt to Admissions with the child's name and academic year reference as instructed by the school. Boarding
- MEF International School, İzmir is a Reception–Grade 12 co-educational day school; boarding facilities are not applicable.
