Clubs are offered once per week during the school day and may change by semester. They are organized into divisions: The Arts, The Sciences, The Humanities, The Languages, The Health, and Life Skills. Clubs are led by MEF IS Izmir teachers or external organizations and provide opportunities for academic enrichment and skill development. They support students in pursuing interests beyond the standard curriculum.
Arts and creative opportunities are offered through the Arts division and related after‑school activities. After‑school options include Arts and crafts and Dance. Music & Drama and Performing Arts are part of the curriculum in Early Years and Primary, supporting creative development. Students have opportunities to explore artistic pursuits through clubs and performances.
Clubs are divided into Languages and Cultural Awareness. Model United Nations is supported as a student activity, with conferences such as ACIMUN attended by the High School MUN Club. The school promotes cultural exchanges and international-minded activities through field trips and student life. The Diploma Programme IB emphasizes global perspectives via CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) in the high school.
After School Clubs include Swimming, Gymnastics, Taekwondo, Keyboarding, Arts and crafts, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and Dance. These activities are available to primary and secondary students and may vary by semester. They are led by MEF IS Izmir teachers or external organizations and are optional with parent pickup required.
MEF IS Izmir has an established record of service learning projects. As an IB World School, CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) is a Diploma Programme requirement, so a CAS program is being established in the high school. CAS supports developing creativity, activity, and service through student experiences.
Student Life includes a Student Council. A Parent Teacher Association operates under Beyond the Classroom, offering additional leadership and community engagement opportunities. Leadership and professional skills are fostered through clubs and school activities.
Sports and outdoor activities are part of the program. Internal events include swimming carnivals, Sports Days, track and field (off-site), gymnastic shows, dance recitals, volleyball competitions, and hiking holidays. The school competes externally in swimming and participates in inter‑school events in Izmir and beyond as a member of the Turkish International School League (TISL).
