MEF International School, Izmir is located in Gaziemir, Izmir on a 7,000 square metre campus near the airport. Reception (3- and 4-year-olds) and the Primary School are on the first floor of B-Block; the Secondary School (Grades 6–12) is on the upper floor of B-Block, and Biology is on the second floor of A-Block. Visual Arts and Performing Arts spaces are in C-Block, which also houses an indoor pool and a gym. The campus features a conference hall for performances and assemblies, a whole-school library with physical and electronic resources, a fully networked computer lab, and fully equipped Chemistry, Biology and Physics laboratories. Classrooms have wireless internet, large interactive display screens and access to Microsoft, Google and Apple applications, with iPads available for student use. An onsite nurse and a guidance counsellor support wellbeing; the grounds are fenced and video-monitored, and dining provides snacks twice daily and hot lunches.
An indoor pool and a gym are available on campus in C-Block. Students regularly take part in internal tournaments, including swimming carnivals, Sports Days, track and field (off-site), gymnastic shows and volleyball competitions, and participate in hiking as part of activities. Externally, the school competes in swimming with a strong team and takes part in inter-school events with a sister school in Istanbul; it has competed in the TISL basketball league in Antalya and plans to expand to volleyball.
The campus includes a fully networked computer lab and large interactive display screens in most classrooms. There are dedicated laboratories for Chemistry, Biology and Physics. A central, well-stocked library provides a wide range of books and electronic resources. Visual Arts and Performing Arts spaces are located in C-Block, alongside the arts facilities. Wireless internet is available throughout the school, and iPads are available for teachers for student use in lessons.
Clubs are offered once per week during the school day, with options across The Arts, The Sciences, Humanities, Languages, Health and Life Skills. After-school clubs are available as part of Student Life. Field trips are organized as part of the program, and students can participate in the Student Council and in Community Service activities. Sports and other extracurricular activities contribute to student life.
MEF International School Izmir is a co‑educational, English‑medium day school serving ages 3 to 18. It delivers Cambridge Primary and Secondary programmes, Cambridge IGCSE, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for Grades 11–12, with IBDP accreditation granted in May 2022. Cambridge CAIE assessments run across the lower and upper levels, and Host Country Studies are taught in French, Spanish and Turkish alongside English instruction to develop multilingual, globally minded learners. Established in 2004, MEF IS Izmir is the first officially recognized international school in Izmir approved by the Turkish Ministry of National Education. The 7,000 square metre campus in Gaziemir houses dedicated Primary and Secondary spaces, science laboratories for Chemistry, Biology and Physics, a central library, a computer lab, and Visual Arts and Performing Arts facilities, plus an indoor pool and gym.
