How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Counselling is provided by qualified school counsellors to monitor welfare and guide emotional development, promoting personal and social growth. Learner Support Services create plans and provide counselling to students and families to support wellbeing and development.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Learner Support Service creates plans and supports students with Special Needs.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Language Support Classes are provided for students performing low in the English Language.

Mental Wellbeing

Student Counselling supports welfare and emotional development through a comprehensive school counselling program addressing academic and personal/social development.

Safeguarding

Child Protection and Safeguarding states that all members of the Acorns community have a responsibility to keep students safe. A Designated Safeguarding Officer is available to receive reports of concerns, and a full Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy exists.

Acorns International School Bunga is an international school in Kampala offering the Cambridge Curriculum for Early Years through IGCSE. The campus teaches Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Secondary and Cambridge IGCSE to students aged 1 to 16. Located at Plot 4769 Hamis Kiggundu Road, Kampala, the Bunga campus is part of the Acorns network, with sister campuses in Kisaasi, Kigali and Lubowa. The school is an official Cambridge International Exam Center for Checkpoint exams, providing internationally recognized assessments. From early years, language study includes French and Kiswahili alongside English, and ICT is part of the program. Admissions are open from Early Childhood (18 months) to Primary. The curriculum emphasizes a broad program of swimming, Art & Craft, Dance, and Music and Drama, which are integrated into both classroom learning and after-school activities.
