Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. For admissions to Class I and above, an assessment or admission test is conducted on a notified date, and the presence of both parents is mandatory during the assessment. 2. Admission tests are usually conducted immediately after registration or within the next three working days. 3. Nursery and LKG admissions have no tests or interviews; the teacher observes and interacts with the child along with the parents, and the interview is designed to be pleasant and non-intimidating to learn about the child's development, language use, social skills, and extracurricular interests. 4. For admission to UKG, an observation and/or interview is held on the same day, with the presence of both parents required. 5. Procedure of Admission: 1. No request for changes of dates for assessment/observation/interview will be entertained; 2) The Student Admission form should be collected from the school office after the assessment and the results are declared, and the list of selected candidates will be posted on the Administrative Office notice board; 3) A fee slip will be issued to the parents or guardian of selected candidates as soon as the list is displayed on the notice board; 4) Once the above steps are satisfactorily completed, parents will receive an admission offer and may pay the applicable fees to confirm admission; 5) The admission officer will explain the admission procedure to the parents and the school accountant can be contacted for the fee slip immediately; 6) It is mandatory for both the parents and the guardian to be present to complete admission formalities; 7) For Class I onwards, a Transfer Certificate (Original) from the last school attended must be submitted; 8) Fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable except the caution money (refundable) in case of withdrawal; 9) The management reserves the right to have the last word in all matters relating to admissions; 10) Admissions follow Directorate of Education guidelines and are endorsed by the Managing Committee, with admissions in all classes subject to seat availability. 6. All parents/students must read and accept the Behavior Policy; DPSI Kampala does not accept students with a history of drug, alcohol or weapon possession, or expulsion for serious behavioral issues, and reserves the right to refuse admission. 7. Special needs candidates: DPS Kampala encourages education for all but is not equipped with special needs facilities at present, and parents are requested not to apply until such facilities are in place; if such students are admitted, the school cannot be held responsible for adaptation or outcomes. 8. Admissions for ages 2.5 to 18 years are open. 9. Applications can be submitted online. 10. The age range for admission is 2.5 to 18 years. 11.
