AGS follows the Nova Scotia curriculum in coordination with the UAE Ministry of Education. It is accredited by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and graduates receive the Nova Scotia High School Diploma. The program is taught in English, with French Language, Arabic Language and Islamic Studies offered (for Muslim students). French is a compulsory program from Grade 4 to Grade 9. Transcripts are produced by the Nova Scotia Department of Education.
REAL stands for Recreation, Enrichment And Learning and provides after‑school activities beyond the classroom. After‑school activities start in September and run in two terms throughout the year. The athletics program supports a range of sports, including football, basketball, rugby, touch rugby, swimming, volleyball and badminton, with AGS Royals as the official team name.
