Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
Al Salam Private School began as a nursery in 1985 and was established as a full school in 1988. The school moved through Dubai's historic communities—Al Rigga, Al Muteena, and Hor Al Anz—before settling at its current Al Nahda 2 site. In September 2019, Al Salam began a new phase with the opening of Al Salam Community School in Al Twar 2 to host expanded secondary and Post-16 provision. The group maintains accreditation with Cambridge and Edexcel as official exam providers, reflecting a long-standing emphasis on high academic standards. Ms Sue Johnston founded the school in 1985 and led as headmistress until 2016, guiding its ethos of inclusion and care within a family-run governance structure.
Al Salam Community School has a diverse, international community representing nearly 50 nationalities among students and staff. The school emphasizes diversity, tolerance, and inclusion as core values that shape daily life. Parents participate through a dedicated Parent Council and an online Parents HQ, with volunteer groups focusing on Inclusion, Student Wellbeing, Events, and Student Enrichment, and they help organise community initiatives. The Emirati Watani parent group supports Emirati students and helps foster wider UAE understanding within the school community.
Al Salam Community School maintains a Parent Council formed by volunteers who wish to support the school more closely. The Council works across several themes within the school, including Inclusion, Student Wellbeing, Events, and Student Enrichment. Volunteers who wish to support the school more closely may apply to become members of the Parent Council, and these groups help organise community initiatives that encourage parent engagement and participation in activities together. ASCS provides a dedicated online platform for parents, called Parents HQ, serving as a central hub for updates, dates, curriculum details, event information, and documents. The school publishes a newsletter at least three times a year, provides weekly updates through its website and social channels, and holds assemblies to celebrate student achievements. There is also an Emirati parent group, Watani, to support Emirati students and foster UAE understanding within the school community.
