Al Shohub Private School opened in 1999 as a villa school in Abu Dhabi and was founded by Her Highness Sheikha Shaikha bint Saif Al Nahyan. A purpose-built campus followed in 2015, enabling expanded facilities and a larger student body. Aldar Education acquired the school around 2021; it is now a co-educational primary school offering the British curriculum to a local student body that is about 95% Emirati. ADEK rated the school Good following a recent inspection.
Al Shohub Private School frames itself as the heart of the community; it is a hub for learning and for celebrations for students, families, and the wider local community. Every parent becomes a member of the Al Shohub Parent Association (ASPA) when joining, and parents are encouraged to engage in their child's learning and in the life of the school. The parent community provides invaluable feedback, and this feedback is used to support the continued development of the school. The school invites community groups to use its facilities outside school hours, including the auditorium, indoor gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, and outdoor basketball court.
