Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Cedar School supports social and emotional learning through an inclusive framework with a SEN Coordinator and Counselling staff who monitor progress, collaborate with Year Leaders, and involve parents in target-setting via IEPs and workshops; gifted and talented students receive customised enhancements.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

SEN provision is described as inclusive, with identification through entry assessments, CAT4, classroom and external assessments, and a tracking system; the SEN Coordinator works with Year Leaders to monitor progress, and the school consults with parents and uses external professionals as needed, with SEND and Counselling staff supporting early observation and the potential for modified curricula and IEPs.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

There is no publicly disclosed dedicated EAL program in available materials; English is the language of instruction under the British National Curriculum for England (NCfE) used by Cedar School from FS1 to Year 10, with Year 11 planned for the next academic year.

Mental Wellbeing

KHDA reports an Acceptable Wellbeing rating for Cedar School L.L.C in 2023-2024; on-site health staff include a School Doctor and a School Nurse, and a Wellbeing Team is listed on the site as Coming Soon.

Safeguarding

Cedar School lists a Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy among its School Policies.
