Curriculum Enrichment offers a diverse range of programs designed to ignite curiosity, foster talent and encourage exploration beyond the traditional classroom. The Gifted and Talented Provision includes initiatives such as Take it Even Further (TIEF), mentorship opportunities, and early entry for public examinations, with opportunities to compete in national and international competitions.
Performing Arts provides a high-quality, inclusive curricular and extra-curricular program. All students study Music from Key Stage 1 and Drama from Key Stage 3 weekly. In Key Stage 4, students may pursue GCSE Drama, GCSE Music and BTEC Level 2 Performing Arts, with progression to A Level and BTEC in Key Stage 5. Extra-curricular opportunities include the school band, presentation choir, show choir, orchestra and samba band, plus Tuneful Tuesdays. The department stages annual secondary productions and involves students in various roles such as stage crew, costume and set design, and marketing. The Elite Dance Squad performs at events, with both competitive and non-competitive dance squads; private instrumental tuition is available through partnerships with Dubai Performing Arts and Centre for Musical Arts.
Extra-curricular activities include sports, performing arts, science clubs and technology workshops. ECAs are led by a combination of teaching and support staff and student leaders.
The PTA is the heartbeat of the DBSJP community; it brings parents, teachers and students together to enhance the educational experience.
Student leadership opportunities run from primary to secondary. Head Boy and Head Girl, School Council, House Captains and Sports Leaders are among the roles available. Sports Leaders include Key Stage 2 Play Leaders, Key Stage 3 Junior Sports Leaders, Key Stage 4 Sports Leaders and Sports Council courses.
Facilities include a professional-grade sports hall with multi-purpose courts and an expansive outdoor 4G pitch, tennis courts (one clay and one hard court), an indoor 25-metre eight-lane swimming pool and an indoor learner pool, and three dance studios with sprung floors. The PE curriculum uses the Head, Hand and Heart framework, emphasising knowledge, skills and attitudes, with a focus on leadership, teamwork and lifelong activity. There is a competitive fixtures calendar, inclusive events and a Gifted and Talented sports provision.
