GEMS New Millennium School - Al Khail offers a dual curriculum in CBSE and IGCSE. Kindergarten uses the Early Years Foundation Stage (National Curriculum for England), and Grades 1–8 follow an enriched CBSE curriculum aligned with international standards and UAE regulations. In Grades 9–12 students choose between CBSE with subject options and a 2‑year IGCSE programme, leading to AS/A‑levels. The school is a Microsoft Showcase School, rated Very Good in the 2019 DSIB inspections, and it hosts SAT and IELTS testing centres.
PACT is the extended day programme integrated into the curriculum, conducted three times weekly, to develop communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity. The five pillars of PACT are Prep (homework time), Remedial, Sports, Visual Arts and Performing Arts. There are more than 30 clubs, including Indian classical music (Kathak, Hindustani vocal and Tabla), orchestra, chess, animation, CISCO, Gavel's Club, Judo, guitar, violin, keyboard, drums and public speaking. English-language enrichment features activities such as Model United Nations, World Scholar's Cup, Literacy Week and Spelling Bee.
Second languages offered include French, Hindi and Malayalam. The English Curriculum emphasizes listening, reading, writing and speaking, with features such as Big Write, SPAG and reading assessments, plus engagement in MUN, WSC, Leadership Summits, NMS Literacy Week and Spelling Bee. Arabic is taught through the Arabic Programme aligned to the GEMS Arabic Framework and UAE MoE guidelines.
The school offers more than 30 afterschool clubs and activities. Clubs cover performing arts, music, sports, chess, animation and technology, including Indian classical music, orchestra, Judo, dance and various instrument lessons. Participation in activities outside class is supported by the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, which recognises youth achievements internationally.
Community Outreach Environment‑Innovation Programme (COEIP) is a school USP, with monthly targeted outcomes for students. COEIP activities have included Pinktober awareness, the 30x30 Fitness Challenge, Diwali Dhamaka, and Science Week, among other initiatives. The programme involves ongoing environmental and community outreach work carried out by students.
Career guidance begins in Grade 8 and includes university tie‑ups, career fairs and preparation for competitive examinations. The school is a registered SAT centre and an IELTS centre to support university applications. This framework supports students' leadership development and preparation for higher education globally.
PACT provides an extensive schedule of activities three times a week, with a strong emphasis on sports such as swimming, football, basketball, cricket, tennis, athletics, badminton and karate, as well as dance and performing arts. The campus features facilities including a swimming pool, basketball court, multi‑sport games area, library, and computer/robotics labs. NMS also offers the NMS e‑Library for digital resources.
