Uniform is compulsory for all Hartland students and follows a grey-and-white palette with year-group variations. FS to Year 3 wear a striped dress (girls) or striped shirt with grey shorts (boys); Years 4–6 wear white shirts with grey trousers or skirts, with a grey V-neck sweater, and Years 7–11 wear a white shirt with grey trousers or skirt, a grey blazer with logo and a school tie. Black leather shoes are required for all students and non-marking PE footwear is used for sports; the uniform is sold by Sumeru at J3 Mall, 983 Al Wasl Road, Umm Suqeim 2 (open 10:00–18:00, Monday–Saturday; closed on Sundays).
Hartland operates a student canteen. FS1 to Year 1 meals are delivered to classrooms; Years 2 to 4 visit the canteen for pre-plated hot meals; Year 5 and above use a cashless card system to purchase hot and cold food. The food is provided by MasterCook.
Hartland uses a four-house system: Mushrif, Creekside, Safa and Zabeel, named after iconic parks in Dubai. Students from all year groups are assigned to a house, and house points are awarded for academics, acts of kindness and participation in activities; events include house assemblies, the Teddy Bears Picnic for younger students, and inter-house competitions. Siblings are placed in the same house to strengthen family connections.
Hartland International School is owned and operated by Meraki Education. Meraki Education specialises in establishing and managing international schools and lists Hartland alongside North London Collegiate School Dubai and North London Collegiate School Singapore in its portfolio.
