Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Muna British Academy opened in September 2009 as a primary school in Abu Dhabi and is part of the Aldar Academies network. The school has earned consecutive Outstanding ratings from ADEK. The school is owned and managed within the Aldar Academies network, which sits under Aldar Education. In 2025/2026, Aldar Education announced relocation to a new campus on Saadiyat Island's Lagoons community, with initial intake from FS1 to Year 7 and plans to extend to Year 13. The Lagoons campus will offer modern facilities including pools, laboratories, an auditorium and sports spaces to support holistic development.

Community

Muna British Academy is a harmonious, multicultural community with over 50 nationalities. The school is described as a vibrant, busy environment where pupils are valued and cared for. ADEK rated the school Outstanding, highlighting a strong sense of community and innovation. Public materials show a focus on wellbeing, healthcare provision and facilities such as a sports hall and learning labs as part of community life.

Parent-Teacher Association

Public pages describe a structured parent engagement channel led by a Parent Relations Executive (PRE) who coordinates communications and events. Parents can take part in open days and campus tours arranged through the PRE. A Welcome Pack for parents provides guidance and resources for families joining the academy. The Aldar network includes a Referral Programme that offers 4% back on annual tuition when a referred family enrolls. A Parent's Experience Centre for inquiries operates within the Aldar network, located at Yas Mall. A formal PTA body is not described publicly on the site, and the available channels constitute the official parent engagement infrastructure.
