Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

NDPS integrates well-being into its Cambridge-based curriculum, aiming for growth in students' understanding and well-being. A dedicated pastoral and inclusion structure supports social and emotional development, including a Pastoral Lead and a Social Worker listed on the Reach Us page. The school explicitly notes supporting students who are new to English or who have special educational needs as part of its inclusive approach. The inclusion framework is led by a Head of Inclusion with a designated Inclusion contact. NDPS provides on-site health services (Clinic) with a Doctor and Nurse, contributing to student wellbeing.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

NDPS states it personalises teaching to meet each student's unique needs, including those with special educational needs. The inclusion function is led by a Head of Inclusion and includes an Inclusion contact to support SEN. Public materials describe SEN support in general terms and do not specify particular SEN categories or a specialist SEN designation. A dedicated Inclusion contact can be reached at inclusion@ndps.ae. The inclusion team is described as part of an inclusive approach rather than as a specialist SEN institution.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

NDPS provides support for students who are new to English. An Inclusion function and Head of Inclusion suggest coordinated support for multilingual learners. Detailed EAL programs or staff dedicated solely to EAL are not publicly disclosed. Public materials describe language support as part of the broader inclusion/SEN framework. The Reach Us page lists safeguarding-related roles and contact avenues that can support language learners in coordination with health and pastoral staff.

Mental Wellbeing

Curriculum Overview notes significant growth in students' understanding and well-being, reflecting a formal emphasis on wellbeing. NDPS has an on-site Clinic with a Doctor and Nurse to address health and wellbeing needs. Pastoral support is provided by a designated Pastoral Lead and a Social Worker as part of the wellbeing framework. An Inclusion department and Head of Inclusion contribute to SEL and emotional support for multilingual learners. These provisions demonstrate a structured approach to supporting students' mental wellbeing within daily school life.

Safeguarding

NDPS's safeguarding-infrastructure includes a Pastoral Lead, Head of Inclusion, Social Worker, Doctor, and Nurse, as listed on Reach Us. On-site Clinic and medical staff contribute to student safety and safeguarding. The Reach Us page provides direct contact emails for safeguarding roles (Pastoral Lead, Social Worker, Doctor, Nurse), indicating accessible safeguarding channels. The UAE government maintains a national child protection framework with reporting channels for suspected abuse, which contextualizes NDPS's safeguarding environment. NDPS's staffing and contact details show a formal safeguarding structure that supports student protection.
