Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

NAS Abu Dhabi welcomed its first students in August 2023. It is the second Nord Anglia Education school in Abu Dhabi and the third Nord Anglia school in the United Arab Emirates. The founding principal was Jonathan Cuff, who previously led Nord Anglia's UK schools. The campus on Al Reem Island was purpose-built to support the English National Curriculum, with expansion to Years 9–12 planned for August 2024 and the first A-level cohort graduating in July 2026. It is part of Nord Anglia Education's global network, which includes exclusive collaborations with The Juilliard School, MIT, and UNICEF that shape its learning experiences.

Community

NAS Abu Dhabi has a family-friendly campus with dedicated parent social hubs to foster connection. The school hosts community events such as the Autumn Festival on October 31 (with trunk-or-treat, costumes, and stalls) and the Eid Al Etihad Village-style experiences in November. The NAS Abu Dhabi community participates in Nord Anglia's Global Campus experiences and collaborates with MIT, Juilliard, and UNICEF to enrich learning beyond the classroom. MEtime arrangements and the on-site Parent Café provide spaces for parents to engage during school life.

Parent-Teacher Association

A formal, named PTA is not publicly listed for NAS Abu Dhabi; parent involvement is organized through Nord Anglia UAE-wide parent engagement practices and on-site activities. Public NAS Abu Dhabi events with parent participation include the Autumn Festival on October 31, featuring trunk-or-treat, costumes, and stalls. A forthcoming Al Etihad cultural event on 28 November will bring families, students, and staff together for a parade and UAE-heritage celebrations. The MEtime framework and the on-campus Parent Café provide spaces for parents to connect, participate in fitness sessions, and share experiences. Communication with families is supported via the NAS Abu Dhabi app and the Parent Essentials hub, which include calendars, events and clubs. Nord Anglia UAE-wide parent engagement programs help sustain ongoing parental involvement across the network.
