Construction on Reach British School began in September 2012, and the school first opened in September 2014 with more than 200 pupils. By the end of the first term enrolment had grown to 686 students. In 2016 Reach British School joined the International Schools Partnership (ISP), reflecting its integration into a global network. Reach British School has earned British Schools Overseas accreditation, described as 'Good with Outstanding features,' and today serves over 1,800 students from more than 70 nationalities, following the National Curriculum for England for ages 3–18.

Parents are involved in the life of the school, and there are strong links with the local community and a high level of parental engagement. The school offers a broad enrichment and after-school programme, including ISP cultural exchanges and leadership opportunities for students. The community participates in events such as National Day celebrations, International Day, and World Book Day, reflecting both UAE context and international perspectives.
Reach British School has a Parents Council that meets monthly to discuss school progress and share ideas for improvement. Parents are involved in major school events, and the school is actively expanding parental involvement in a wider range of activities. The school holds termly parent–teacher meetings and provides progress updates through written reports, with daily communications via email and Class Dojo. Parent–teacher conferences are also held to discuss student progress in depth. Accreditation reports note a high level of parent engagement and strong links with the local community.
