South View School supports social and emotional learning through a dedicated pastoral team that promotes mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing, with a range of wellbeing resources and regular workshops on stress management, mindfulness, and healthy relationships.
The Inclusion Department provides an inclusive mainstream curriculum with The Base in the Secondary School, a Wellbeing Hub, and a graduated system of support including in-class, small-group, and one-to-one interventions, plus Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for Students of Determination with termly progress reviews and active parental involvement.
EAL support is delivered by a team of language specialists, with four kinds of support—Intensive Pull-Out, Language Pull-Out, In-Class Support, and Monitoring—and an Exit Process based on the Bell Foundation framework.
Mental wellbeing is supported via the Wellbeing Hub and a whole-school counsellor, with a pastoral team delivering mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing initiatives, including resilience-building and a sense of belonging.
Safeguarding is prioritised through comprehensive policies and procedures, safeguarding leads, regular staff training, secure premises, and an anti-bullying policy, with open communication with parents.
