Star International School, Al Twar was established in 2005 by the ETA Star Group in Dubai, opening with a primary programme based on the National Curriculum for England. A secondary campus was opened to accommodate older students and post-16 study, with the newer Al Qusais/Al Ghusais facilities coming online around 2021. A second Star campus, Star International School, Mirdif, opened in 2009 and later joined the group. In 2022, ISP acquired a majority stake in Star International Schools, unifying the Al Twar and Mirdif campuses under ISP's network. KHDA inspections have rated the schools as 'Good.'
