ISC-Sharjah opened in January 1976 as the first SABIS Network school outside Lebanon. It began with 25 teachers and 141 students; by February 1976 the enrolment was 37, and by the end of the first year it stood at 141. As enrolment grew, the school moved to a purpose-built campus. ISC-Sharjah operates as a private, non-selective, independent, English-medium day school and is fully accredited by the UAE government and international accreditation agencies. The SABIS network traces its origins to 1886 with the founding of the International School of Choueifat in Choueifat, Lebanon.
ISC-Sharjah's school community centers on the SABIS Student Life Organization (SLO), which coordinates student volunteers, in-school teams, and school-sponsored events, and oversees academic and athletic competitions as well as field trips. Art exhibitions and other cultural activities form part of the annual school life and showcase student work. Weekend activities and events include sports, music, ballet, gymnastics shows, and club activities that families can attend. UAE National Day celebrations and other cultural events are observed as part of the school's community calendar.
A formal Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is not publicly documented in ISC-Sharjah's public materials. Parent involvement is supported through the SABIS Digital Platform, a parent portal that provides access to attendance, academic results, and teachers' feedback. Family engagement is fostered through school events and communications, with UAE National Day celebrations, art shows, music and ballet performances, weekend activities, and field trips inviting family participation. The SABIS Student Life Organization (SLO) also connects families to student life by highlighting events and achievements and through student-led activities. While a separate PTA is not listed, the school maintains active channels for parent communication and involvement via the SABIS Digital Platform and regular school events.
