SEL at The Oxford School Dubai is supported by the Inclusion and Wellbeing team, including a Head of Inclusion and Wellbeing and School Counselors/Wellbeing Officers who are part of the Inclusion Support Team, and the school uses a KHDA-aligned Graduated System of Support (ILP/IEP/ALP) with push-in and pull-out services to address social and emotional needs.
The Inclusion Policy AY 2024–2025 confirms The Oxford School is inclusive and employs a Graduated System of Support with Levels 1–3, developing ILPs/IEPs/BIPs/ALPs and offering curriculum modifications or external therapies where needed; it operates within mainstream classrooms and follows KHDA guidance for identifying and supporting Students of Determination.
English as an Additional Language (EAL) provision is embedded in the Inclusion Support Team, with an English as Additional Language Representative listed in Appendix A of the Inclusion Policy AY 2024–2025.
Mental wellbeing is supported through in-house counselors and wellbeing staff (Counselors/Wellbeing Officers) as part of the Inclusion and Wellbeing structure, with measures such as Medical Accommodation Plans (MAP) and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEP) for students with specific needs.
Safeguarding is governed by The Oxford School Dubai's Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy (2025–2026), which designates a Designated Child Protection & Safeguarding Lead (DCSL) and Deputy Leads, includes a School Counselor as Child Protection Officer, and requires staff training and procedures aligned with UAE law and KHDA standards.
